The Göteborg Book Fair is probably Scandinavia’s most important literary event where the trade meets the public. During four days, 26-29 September, about 90,000 publishers, authors, librarians, teachers and book lovers mix on the 11,000 square meters provided.

iRead was invited to hold a workshop in a part of the fair that focussed on media and information literacy.

The iRead Gothenburg team had a slot for a workshop at 9 in the morning, right when the fair opened for the day. Some eager teachers, who had specifically sought out iRead, came to participate. They first got to hear a bit about the project; what has been done and where we stand today. After that the participants tried both the Amigo Reader and the Navigo games on the tablets provided. The apps stirred their interest, and a couple inquired about participating in the project as they thought it would be beneficial to their students.

We had brought hand-outs about the iRead project with our contact details which mentioned that there still is a possibility to join. On the following Monday, the team already had interest from a school that wanted to take part in the upcoming evaluation!
