Our team has been very busy in the past 6 months and we recently met in Universitat de Barcelona hosted by Roger Gilabert Guerrero and Sara Feijoo Antolin. Our interdisciplinary iRead team includes linguists, designers, game developers, assistive technology developers, e-book publishers, adaptive learning and AI experts. Joining the 35 members attending the two day meeting were our advisory members Tom Kenyon (Playful technologies) and Wayne Holmes (Open University) who provided advice on scientific and exploitation matters.
During the project meeting we covered issues such as user requirements (led by University of Gothenburg) in the diverse learning settings we are considering which include three learner groups (early readers, students with dyslexia and students learning English as a foreign language) and four languages (English, German, Spanish and Greek)! Fish in a Bottle presented the current version of the prototype game app and demoed a number of different reading puzzles. We also discussed the domain language models, technical development and project exploitation.
